Nashville, TN, June 15, 2012 –
Epiphone Guitars is proud to announce the new, Limited Edition Jack Casady Signature Bass. The best-selling Epiphone Jack Casady Signature Bass is universally recognized for its superb, balanced tone and responsiveness. Epiphone now offers bassists the new Jack Casady Signature Bass in a limited-edition Silverburst color finish.
“My primary instrument is the one that I get the most variety of tone out of, The Epiphone JC Bass. That’s the one that I strive to use the most,” said Casady. “And it’s an instrument that I want to play, I pick it up and I’m always happy with the way it sounds. It’s a great bass!”
Legendary bassist Jack Casady worked closely with Epiphone to design the Jack Casady Signature Bass – an instrument with a superb, balanced electric tone and sound. Jack Casady’s bass is a favorite of professional players in every genre including Brian Ray of Paul McCartney’s band, One Republic’s Brent Kutzle and Josh Paul of Daughtry.
The semi-hollow Limited Edition Jack Casady Signature Bass captures the unique characteristics of the original model including; a hand-set mahogany neck with a 1960’s rounded profile, black covered JCB-1™ low impedance and output pickup and employs a three-position VariGain™ switch. The exclusive Limited Edition Jack Casady Signature Bass comes complete with Casady’s trademark signature on the headstock and is available at authorized Epiphone retailers worldwide beginning July 2012 for the U.S. MSRP of $1,165. This 2012 production run is limited to a maximum of 500 pieces.
“The Epiphone Jack Casady Signature Bass is the best-selling bass in our product line” said Jim Rosenberg, President of Epiphone. “Like the Jack bass, the Silverburst color is iconic and really works well with this design. We’ve never offered it in this color so now’s the chance for bass players to grab one before they’re all gone.”
The Epiphone Limited Edition Jack Casady Signature Bass features a classic semi-hollow body design with a maple top, back and sides with elegant single-ply cream binding on the top and back. The hand-set mahogany neck has a 1960’s era rounded profile and features a 34″ scale with a rosewood fingerboard, a 12″ radius and a 1.50″ nut. The iconic Epiphone “E” is featured on the 2-ply truss rod cover and pick guard.
The Jack Casady Signature Bass features a black covered JCB-1™ low impedance pickup and employs a three-position VariGain™ switch to shape the sound and output levels. The “50” position is great for direct studio recording or for an acoustic-like tonal purity whereas the “500” offers a fatter tone that’s great for blues, jazz or rock. The “250” position falls right between the two.
The Jack Casady Signature Bass features nickel hardware, die-cast “Clover” bass tuners, and a 3-point adjustable bridge exactly like what the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer uses on-stage.
