Electric Hot Tuna at the 2015 Christmas Jam!

Electric Hot Tuna is very excited about being a part of Warren Haynes’ 2016 Christmas Jam! It’s SOLD OUT!
And it’s all for a great cause. Over the past 17 years, Haynes – an Asheville native – has worked closely with the Asheville Area Habitat for Humanity. The Jam recently handed over a record-breaking half-million dollars, marking one of the largest-ever contributions to the organization. To date, 33 houses have been built with proceeds from the Jam. Rock the House! Check out Warren Haynes new CD Ashes & Dust. It’s excellent!

Finally taking some time during a busy week of shows (tonight at the Sherman Theater) and a holiday to reflect on what a wonderful time I had at last week’s show at the Beacon Theater. Freakin’ at the Beacon was just fantastic. I am so grateful to work with such fabulous musicians. Special thanks to Jorma, Justin Guip, Larry Campbell, GE Smith, Teresa Williams, Rachel Price and Jeff Pehrson. And my old friend, John Hammonds. Thanks for a wonderful weekend of making music. And thanks to all of our dedicated fans. Love and respect to you all.

Jorma’s 75th Birthday Bash – Freakin at the Beacon

Well, it’s true. And it only means we’re all five years older too. So join Jorma, Jack and Electric Hot Tuna for “Freakin at the Beacon” Theater in New York City on Friday, November 20th and Saturday November 21st to help celebrate an amazing man and an amazing life.

Jorma & Jack Celebrate 50 Years of Jefferson Airplane at LOCKIN

We all know what a beautiful experience Chicago was for Dead fans celebrating 50 years of the Grateful Dead. Well this performance should be equally memorable and emotional for fans of Jefferson Airplane.

In addition to performing as Hot Tuna, Jorma and Jack, the founding fathers of electric counter-culture psychedelic rock, will be joined by Rachael Price (of Lake Street Dive), GE Smith (long time SNL house guitarist), and Larry Campbell + Teresa Williams (famed Americana duo – Levon Helm / Midnight Ramble, Hot Tuna, Fur Peace Ranch). Special guest appearance by Bill Kreutzmann.

Don’t miss Jorma and Jack curating this once-in-a-lifetime presentation of some of the best rock songs of the late 60’s / early 70’s.

Dave Grohl Rocks the Black Jack

Here’s a great shot of rocker Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters, Nirvana) putting the black Jack Casady Signature Epiphone Bass Guitar to the test. Pretty sure it held it’s own. Rock On Dave! We love your work and we’re just a tiny bit jealous of your “rock-n-roll hair!” Oh, those were the days!

Dominic Davis on Tour with Jack White and Epiphone

Our friend Dominic Davis is busy these days. Dominic is about to hit the road with Jack White for shows in Chile, Paraguay, Argentina, Brazil and the USA. Look for Dominic on tour with his Epiphone Jack Casady bass and if you watch closely, you might even see him in an upcoming episode of the smash ABC hit Nashville. (Photos: James Swanson)

Jack-Casady-Ribbecke-Diana-Bass-lead-620x296

OK, We’ve received a lot of questions from fans recently regarding Jack’s new acoustic bass, The Diana, by Tom Ribbecke. If you were lucky enough to catch Hot Tuna on their west coast swing in early January, you would have caught a glimpse of the new bass. Jack has been playing The Diana in very limited situations, such as the Fillmore Show. This is primarily because he doesn’t want to subject it to airline baggage handlers who are notoriously hard on guitars, just ask any player who has had to travel, ugh. This is no small guitar and it is VERY special to him. So he is very protective of it, as one might imagine, thus the limited usage. With that said, Jack absolutely loves playing the Diana bass. And he would like to acknowledge Tom Ribbecke for his outstanding commitment to this project. “Tom is an outstanding craftsman, but more importantly, he listens and understands the importance of each project. He put his heart and soul into this project. The results are beautiful. Just like it’s inspiration.”

Kevin Johnson, Managing Editor at No Treble, wrote a nice review of the Diana Bass. Here are some of the specs
